LabelWoodblock is the medium that the artist Kim Sang Ku has employed for the past thirty years, following the long and distinguished tradition of Korean woodblock printing. For the surface on which his woodblock carvings appear, Kim uses only Korean mulberry paper made in the traditional method. This print is from his "Series of 1998," which is composed of eight iconic images of Korean Buddhist sites. No. 667 depicts the very famous Bulkuk-sa Temple founded in 751 in Kyòngju city. |
