Reflections in the Seine I is one of several drawings related to his painting Seine. While the painting is a geometricized representation of the irregular, flickering reflection of light on the wavering surface of the River Seine, Reflections in the Seine I emphasizes the weight and darkness of water (as opposed to surface light).
