Embroidered Textile

c. 1925
Designed by Vittorio Zecchin (Italian, 1878–1947) , and Maria Monaci Gallenga (Italian, 1880–1944)
Gallenga designed this white-work embroidered tablecover in collaboration with her friend, the glassmaker, painter, and textile designer Vittorio Zecchin. White work embroidery, in which the stitching is the same color as the foundation fabric, was traditionally used to create domestic textiles.
