New York’s Either/OR performs three of Cage’s final works, Four³ (1991; scored for one or two pianos, rainsticks, violin or oscillator, and silence), One³ and Two⁶ (1992; for violin and piano), both based on a chance-derived score called Extended Lullaby, based on Erik Satie’s Vexations. Cunningham dance performances will illuminate these compositions periodically throughout the performance, as Solos, Duets, Trios, Quartets, and Quintets share the stage.
