American Furniture and Silver
It is a tour of the creation, trends and styles used by 18th century Philadelphians for furnishing their homes and the use of silver as a commodity, decorative and functional metal, with an emphasis on the historical significance of many of the PMA's finest pieces, for example the Revere Teapot and the Syngh coffeepot and the Rococo chest on chest in the 18th century furniture gallery.

American Impressionism
Commencing at the end of the Nineteenth Century, a brand of American Impressionism flourished in the United States. Influenced by contacts with Europe, as well as work done in the United States , the style took hold in several art colonies—loosely affiliated groups of artists who lived and worked together and shared a common aesthetic vision. The PMA is fortunate to have several examples from the art colony that was formed in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
