Engage in Artful Thinking practices through activities, discussion, and presentation. Explore the ways thinking routines can encourage learners to look closely, ask questions, reason carefully, and explore the complexity of works of art and topics across the curriculum. Also examine how students’ thinking can be documented, and how the forms of thinking encouraged by Artful Thinking practices connect to Common Core standards.

What Is Artful Thinking?
Artful Thinking is an approach to looking at art that can be used with learners of all ages. It foregrounds the use of thinking routines, which encourage active engagement with artworks and are transferable from museum galleries to classroom settings.
